Exploring the Wilderness: A 5-Day Itinerary for Denali National Park
Day 1:
Arrive in Anchorage and drive to Denali National Park
Check into lodging near the park entrance
Enjoy a scenic drive through the park and keep an eye out for wildlife such as moose, caribou, and grizzly bears
If time allows, take a short hike on one of the many trails in the park
Day 2:
Take a bus tour through Denali National Park to learn more about the park's history, wildlife, and geology
The tour is about 8 hours long, but there are plenty of stops for photos and restroom breaks
Pack snacks and water for the day, as there are no restaurants or shops within the park
Day 3:
Take a guided hike or go mountain biking in the park
There are several options for guided hikes, including a guided trek to the summit of Mt. Healy
Rent a bike and explore the park on your own, taking in the stunning mountain views
Day 4:
Take a flightseeing tour over Denali and the surrounding area
These tours offer a unique perspective on the park and allow you to see some of the more remote areas of the park that are inaccessible by road
In the afternoon, visit the Denali Visitor Center to learn more about the park's history and geology
Day 5:
Depart Denali and return to Anchorage
Spend the day exploring Anchorage, checking out local shops, restaurants, and museums
If time allows, take a scenic drive along Turnagain Arm to see some of Alaska's stunning coastal scenery
